Points to consider while designing a safety door for your house- Considering the basic purpose of safety door, few things come to my mind.

• It should be strong and sturdy.
• Grill should be stainless steel so it won’t rust over a span of time.
• Good quality latch should be used.

From aesthetic view, safety door is the first thing people will see before entering your house. So we should try to make it more stylish and elegant as we can..

• S.S grill embedded full length in the door makes it different.
• Small flower petal design gives it a sleek feeling. It enhances looks as well as from safety point of view an outside person can’t put his hand in the house. Just perfect designs to give you see through of the visitor.
• The textured door panel with melamine polish gives it a feel of sophistication. The color of textured door panel is dark brown natural wood. The dark brown tone is purposely kept lighter than the darkest brown frame on its one side and at top. On another side is light colored panel. This color tone give it separate identity.
• The door frame is another important element in the door. Check the shape of door frame. It is like a dark border to door and the nameplate panel. If it was kept along all three sides of the door the entrance would get smaller feel. The way it is designed to make feel entrance wider and bigger.
• Name plate panel color is not as dark as frame border or textured door neither white as the rest of background, maintaining its own identity.
• Name plate is of protruding acrylic letters. Color of the letters is matching to door color and giving contrast to its background.
• A niche at the top of door for lord Ganesh idol made according to the requirement of the house owner.

All in all over a tight budget of the owner we tried to make a decent safety door. Let us take one more example check below image.

Here entrance passage is hardly 3’6” for this reason the dark border is extended to adjoining wall so you get feel of little big entrance, by doing so you also get panel for the name plate.

You can see a textured MDF used for door panel and the name plate panel. Dark laminated border is used where as textured panel is colored in white.
